* Study with great Brazilian percussionists, singers and dancers.
* Study Pandeiro, the Brazilian tambourine.
* Study with Layne adapting Brazilian rhythms to Middle Eastern tambourine.
* Visit candomble' houses for ceremonies, attend folkloric and other musical shows
This trip includes the fantastic festival of São Lázaro, where the Orixa´, Omolu, is honored. Lazerus is the man Christ raised from the dead and Omolu is the Afro-Brazilian god of healing so this is a profound morning of healing, purification and drumming on the steps the old colonial church of St. Lazerus.
$2190 -- Early registration (paid in full) by July. 1: covers private hotel room, percussion classes, shows, breakfast. After July 1: $2390, for a private room. If you are traveling with someone and want to share a double room: $1890.00 by July 1, $2090 after July 1. For students who are on a tighter budget who are willing to stay in a dorm in a Youth Hostel: $1760 paid in full by July 1, $1960 after July 1. These fees do not include airfare.
